7 Easy Weight Loss Tips

OK!  Is it Action Jackson time??

 

Are you internally gearing up for your Rivieria Maya escapade and wishing to feel a bit more svelte in your swimsuit?

 

OR are you simply ready to shed a few pounds for your joints, blood pressure, or LONGEVITY overall?

 

Whatever your motivation to become a trimmer version of you - chances are when you lose a little you'll not only look HOTTER and more YOUTHFUL, but you will also FEEL BETTER.

 

So if you're onboard with that effort - let's get acquainted with some tactics that will make that desired outcome happen in a way that's actually EASIER.

 

7 EASY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS:

 

1. DIAL BACK CARBS SLIGHTLY

This really can be a micro adjustment. 

Less is more on the carb front especially when you're coming from typically consuming a LOT.

Start to see where you can make suffer-free substitutions to keep your tastebuds AND waistline happy.

Some super easy things I'm always doing/having:

  - Plan the protein and vegetable part of your meal, but let carbs join the party LATE.  This way you'll be getting mostly full on more desirable macronutrients and will simply have less room for the one that generally helps this effort less.

  - choose high fiber carbs (and that can even mean BREAD = read the label)

  - make substitutions for loved items with low carb options:

      Two I love:

         - Tumaros low carb wraps

         - Choczero chocolate (low carb, no sugar, DELICIOUS)

 

 

2. SKIP ALCOHOL/DESSERT CERTAIN DAYS

If you WANT either of these things - don't expect yourself to never have them. 

If we're going to say NO much/some of the time - we NEED to deliberately also say YES on others.

When we don't we often push back to the degree that we'll probably end up consuming unsupportive stuff WAY more than even WE want.

NOT NO, but NOT NOW is a really good tactic.

And then figure out when YES might be.

 

 

 

 

3. DRINK MORE WATER

This is really really a thing.  

When our kidneys are less supported with less water consumption the liver has to step in to assist it in it's role of filtering our blood.

And when the liver puts it's attention there it takes away from the task of METABOLIZING FAT.

Plus the liver literally NEEDS water to metabolize fat.

Like it kind of doesn't happen without it.

So DRINK UP!

And how much?

Honestly, whenever I look this up I get an abysmally low recommendation.

My thoughts?

Aim for a gallon.

Even if you miss you'll land among the stars. ;)

 

  

4. GET MORE SLEEP

Weight loss happens when we sleep.

Human Growth Hormone (consequential for weight loss and testosterone levels) gets released during deep sleep in surges throughout the night.

The largest amounts happen in the earlier part of the night, and less in the wee hours of the morning.

We also need an hour from when our head hits the pillow and our eyes finally close - to get into deep sleep (when the magic happens).

SO, best case scenario - get to bed ideally by 9pm, 10pm would still be good, and not later than 11pm.

  

 

5. HAVE 2-3 HRS.+ BETWEEN END OF DINNER & BEDTIME

If we now have an appreciation for Human Growth Hormone, let's also digest that Insulin is a hormone that inhibits it.

Every time we eat Insulin is released.

If we eat close to bedtime Insulin will still be in our system preventing HGH from being released.

So make sure you have a bit of a window - 4 hours would honestly be ideal, but 2-3 can work, not more than 6 (generally as people get hungry).

 

 

6. WALK

All these tips are hot topics and/or cardinal rules in Fat Burning PRO and walking is one of the BIG ones in our Fat Burning equation..

Walking is such a wonderfully reliable exercise that taps into fat while NOT making your body hungrier OR suddenly feel desperate for carbs.

How to fit walking in?

Do it in the morning.  Do it on your lunch break. During calls that are the catch up kind, or where you don't have to be visible or at a screen.  Do it as a way to socialize.  Do it after dinner with your spouse as a way to digest dinner and digest your days with each other.

And big things for walking would be duration (aim for an hour), frequency (multiple times a week), and consistency (develop a habit you love and miss if you skip).

 

 

7. ALLOW HUNGER TO HAPPEN

Is this against popular belief?

It's silly to think we constantly need to be cramming food in our mouth throughout the day IF we want to lose weight.

Truth be told we're MADE to STORE FAT in order to BURN IT LATER.

When we get a bit hungry (even when we're mostly burning sugar for fuel = bulk of population) the hormone Glucagon is released which mobilizes fat from cells converts it to Glucose and puts it into the blood stream to keep our blood sugar UP.

It's a security measure our body has in place in case FOOD is NOT available and it wants to make sure we're able to get to it when we can.

So allow yourself to feel a little empty, for your belly to rumble, to be a bit hungry BEFORE you eat.

You'll be just fine and when you've had enough - EAT.

But in the meantime you'll be passively speeding up weight loss.
